Did you know that there are 74 public parks in the city of Grand Rapids? These range from the 339 acre Aman Park (6 miles west of the city boundary) with woods and stream-to little Baldwin Park (1 acre, maybe?) at the intersection of Lake Dr., Union and Fulton Streets and by the way, boasting a beautiful display of daffodils every spring. When I discovered that GR has 74 parks, I felt I had been missing out on something. Time to check this out.
So, I thought, why not start exploring and write a blog at the same time? Since I’m new to blogging and like to learn new things, this is just what I need, with the Covid restrictions limiting other activities.
I hope you will follow along and be inspired to take a few hikes yourself in our beautiful city parks. Want more information? Check out grandrapidsmi.gov (search Parks Directory) for a full list of the parks with map, address, photo and features.
